Gear & clothing

Gear · Bring a 17m kite for light wind days (average 8.9 kts) and a 14m for stronger sessions. A directional or small twin-tip board works well in the flat water conditions.

Clothing · A light 3/2mm or 2mm wetsuit suffices year-round given Angola's tropical climate; summer months (Nov-Mar) may allow boardshorts only. Water temperature stays warm throughout the year.

Crowd & etiquette

Respect local fishing activities and give right-of-way to commercial vessels. Coordinate with other water users as this is an active harbor area.

Additional notes

Wind is seasonal with only 14 windy days annually; plan visits around May-July and October-November for best conditions. Check local port activity before heading out, as harbor traffic is moderate.
