Gear & clothing
Gear · Mid-range kites (14-17m) suit the variable thermal winds typical of alpine lakes. Twintip or directional boards work well on flat water; lighter equipment helps with the unpredictable gusts.
Clothing · 5-7mm winter/spring wetsuits recommended; Achensee rarely warms above 20°C except midsummer. Gloves and hood essential for shoulder seasons.
Crowd & etiquette
