Launch notes
The flat ocean water and open beach provide excellent launching conditions with consistent ENE/NE winds. Best launch from the central beach area during morning sessions when wind is most stable.
Gear & clothing
Gear · Pack 14-17m kites for the average 13kt winds, with a smaller 12m for stronger days and larger 17m for lighter sessions. A twin-tip or directional board works well in the flat water conditions.
Clothing · A light 2-3mm wetsuit or rash guard is sufficient year-round given the warm Caribbean water temperatures (75-85°F). Consider sun protection and reef booties for shallow areas.
Crowd & etiquette
Share the flat water zone respectfully with other kiters and respect local fishermen's nets and boats. Keep a safe distance from the village's working waterfront area.
Additional notes
Best wind consistency occurs during the trade wind season (May-September and December-April), with over 200 windy days annually. Arrive early to secure parking and scout conditions, as afternoon thermal winds can develop unpredictably.
