Launch notes
The flat water and sandy beach provide excellent launching conditions for beginners. Ideal wind directions are NE and W, which funnel consistently into the bay; launch from the sandy beach with a clear run toward deeper water.
Gear & clothing
Gear · Bring 14-17m kites for the average 10.8 kt wind, with a backup 12m for stronger days. A directional or hybrid board works best for the flat water conditions, making progression easier for beginners.
Clothing · A 3/2mm wetsuit is suitable for winter months (Nov-Feb) when water temperatures drop; a spring suit or rash guard suffices for the warmer season (Apr-Oct). Summer months can be warm enough for board shorts.
Crowd & etiquette
Respect the local swimmers and beach users, especially during summer months, and keep a safe distance from the small fishing boats. Follow standard kite traffic patterns to avoid collisions with other kiters.
Additional notes
The spot is most reliable April through May and October through November when thermal winds are strongest. Book lessons with local schools in advance during peak season to avoid overcrowding on windy days.
