Launch notes

Grahams Cay offers flat water lagoon conditions ideal for beginners with consistent trade winds from the east. Launch from the sandy beach area during high tide to avoid shallow reef zones and maximize water depth.

Gear & clothing

Gear · 14-17 meter kites are ideal for the consistent 14-knot average winds; consider a larger kite (17m) during lighter months. A directional or beginner-friendly twin-tip board works perfectly for the flat water conditions.

Clothing · A light 2-3mm wetsuit or rash guard is sufficient year-round due to warm Caribbean waters (78-82°F). Sun protection is essential; consider long sleeves to prevent sunburn.

Crowd & etiquette

Respect local fishing operations and give way to any commercial boat traffic. Stay within designated kite zones to avoid disturbing marine life and other water users in this protected bay area.

Additional notes

Check tide charts before sessions as shallow areas become more challenging at low tide. The bay is best visited May through October when trade winds are most consistent and reliable.
