About Bali / Jimbaran Beach, Indonesia
Jimbaran works for early-rising beginners—flat water and steady ESE winds, but shallow reef and heavy boat traffic demand respect and an early launch.

Launch notes
Launch from the sandy beach area during early morning or late afternoon when winds are most consistent. The flat water conditions are ideal for beginners, but check tide levels as shallow areas become more exposed at low tide.
Gear & clothing
Gear · Bring 14-17m kites for the average 11.2kt winds, with a 12m kite as backup for lighter days. A twin-tip or beginner board works well in the flat water conditions.
Clothing · A light 2-3mm wetsuit or rash guard is sufficient year-round due to warm tropical water temperatures (around 28-30°C). Sun protection and quick-dry clothing are essential for the intense equatorial sun.
Crowd & etiquette
Respect fishing boats and local fishermen's nets; communicate with other kiters to maintain safe spacing in the relatively compact launch area. Be aware of swimmers and tourists, especially during peak beach hours.
Additional notes
June-July offers the most consistent winds with ESE direction as the main wind flow. Visit early morning (6-9am) for best conditions and fewer crowds before tourist activity peaks.
