About Bali / Keramas, Indonesia
Keramas works in February when westerlies show up—which is rare. Expect weak, gusty wind, Indian Ocean swell, and strong currents. Only worth trying if you're already in Bali.

Launch notes
Launch from the sandy beach areas during westerly wind season, being mindful of shallow reef zones close to shore. The choppy ocean requires careful entry and exit planning, especially in low wind conditions when drifting becomes likely.
Gear & clothing
Gear · Bring larger kites (15-17m) for the very light average wind speeds of 4.8 knots; a directional or twin-tip board works best for handling choppy conditions. Have a backup kite as underpowered sessions are common.
Clothing · A 3mm or rashguard is sufficient given Bali's warm tropical climate year-round, even in February. Sun protection is critical due to strong equatorial UV exposure.
Crowd & etiquette
Respect local fishermen and traditional outrigger boats operating in the area. Keep clear communication with other kiters and maintain safe distances in the choppy water.
Additional notes
February offers the best wind window for this spot, but consistency remains poor; plan multi-day visits to catch rideable conditions. Check local tide charts and swell forecasts carefully, as choppy conditions intensify with larger swells.
