Launch notes
Launch from the sandy beach areas with northerly wind creating ideal flat-water conditions in the bay. The protected bay setup makes this an excellent beginner launch with minimal current issues.
Gear & clothing
Gear · Bring 12-15m kites for typical northerly wind conditions; smaller boards work well in the flat bay water. A light wave board or directional board is ideal for these conditions.
Clothing · A thin 2-3mm wetsuit or rash guard is sufficient year-round due to warm Pacific waters; adjust based on personal preference and season. Winter months (Nov-Mar) may occasionally warrant slightly thicker protection.
Crowd & etiquette
Respect the beach clubs' beach space and launch away from swimmer areas. Keep communication with other kiters given the bay's popularity during high season.
Additional notes
Best sessions occur with consistent north winds during winter months (Nov-Mar). Check local conditions with beach clubs and respect any marked swimming or fishing zones in the bay.
