Launch notes
Launch from the flat, protected lagoon side of Bulabog Beach in shallow water, ideal for beginners. Best launch with NE to ENE winds; avoid SW conditions when offshore winds create choppy conditions on the outer reef.
Gear & clothing
Gear · Bring 14-17m kites for the average 11.9kt wind; larger kites help in lighter trade wind conditions. Flat-water boards or directional boards are ideal for the calm lagoon; avoid wave boards given the protected water.
Clothing · Light rash guard or thin wetsuit (2-3mm) is sufficient year-round due to warm tropical waters (26-29°C). Sun protection and quick-dry clothing are essential due to intense equatorial sun exposure.
Crowd & etiquette
Respect designated kite zones and stay clear of swimmers and non-kiting areas. Coordinate with other riders and schools operating on this popular, crowded beach to avoid collisions.
Additional notes
Bulabog Beach is the dedicated kite zone on Boracay; White Beach is strictly off-limits for water sports. Book lessons or gear rental in advance during peak season (Dec-Mar) as the beach gets very crowded with kitesurfers.
