Launch notes
Launch from the flat water beach in light to moderate winds; NE winds are most reliable and consistent. The shallow conditions make it ideal for learning, though watch for tidal shifts that can expose sandbars.
Gear & clothing
Gear · Bring kites ranging from 14m to 17m to handle the light average wind (8.7 kts); a twin-tip or directional board works well in flat water conditions. Consider a smaller 12m kite for gusty days.
Clothing · A light 3mm or 2mm spring wetsuit is comfortable during the best months (Nov-Jan); consider a rash guard during warmer months (Jul-Oct) for sun protection and minor abrasion protection.
Crowd & etiquette
Respect local fishermen and boat traffic, especially during early morning hours. Keep sessions away from swimmers and maintain safe distance from other water users.
Additional notes
Windsurfing days are limited (~37/year), so check forecasts carefully and plan visits around the best wind months. The spot gets crowded during peak tourist season, so early morning sessions offer better conditions and fewer people.
